I can sell my barbies.

After atcs and van club trips, I knew this camping thing was for me. I had just sold 250 boxes of camp fire girl candies and earned a free week at camp fire girls camp . So when our van club wanted to host a rally, and needed to raise money, I raised my hand and suggested a garage sale. What did a little girl have to sell, I looked arround my room ,and decided not my books, clarinet, or stamp collection. I had several boxes of barbies, and an enormous box of hand made doll clothes. For several years I had worked for a seamstress as a mamas helper to earn fabric, sewed and played with my barbie friends. I felt that I was growing up, and would rather borrow the atc, and go riding than sit in a room and play with dolls. We had our garage sale at a swap meet, I enjoyed how happy other children were to buy my dolls and dresses. I earned 300 dollars for my club that day. The rally was a great success, and I earned my first rally patch.

camp hosting

4/23/2013

Summer plans ,camp hosting on the trinity river, california. This blog will follow my adventures in sheila barkalounger. the barkalounger is a 1987 chevy van camper. I purchased her from a delightful woman who enjoyed music festivals, she had named the van the barkalounger because the seats and bed are so comfortable. She also found herself living in the barkalounger after a very unhappy divorce, I teased her about her barkalounger getting hot n heavy and groovin to love on the river...she smiled and said the van had been an amazing part of her life.(lyrics to CHEVY VAN)  I gave her the name  sheila......because if she she can get up that hill so can I.

Since sheila entered my life, its been reconditioning time. First her electrical system, new solenoid, horn, togal switches upgraded and repaired. Today she is at allied camper getting a new refrigerator and fancied up by greg and his staff. I cant wait to see her this afternoon. Tomorrow she will be modified to solar  by Aurthur, of solar deign concepts rohnert park. Hopefully she will  be road worthy, since her first adventure as my sheila will be a road trip to Joshua Tree national park SMITHWATER canyon 2013 bio-diversity hunt. If you see a sexi chevy pop up on the road with a california whale tail plate BRKLNGR, honk and keep on truckin...

As a young child, my parents( Dean and Barbara Gould ) were members of a van club in San Diego ca. They joined a chevy club named KEEP ON TRUCKIN. My parents had a ford econoline conversion van but the club was'nt  predjudiced. I felt honored to be the youngest member at 8 years old. I had so many happy memories camping, offroading and fishing on our van club outings.

After my own unhappy marriage/equally as unhappy divorce and years of litigation, I decided to do what makes me happy, honoring the earth, and enjoying gods beautiful creation. I accepted a summer volunteer position as a camp hostess, so I could wake up on the trinity river and write. I hope any woman who looks back at her life and sees a mongolian clusterfuck of a personal life, will be inspired to cast off her own  basket of sand. (story of Moses the black, an orthodox saint) will give thanks for gods blessing, and find a way to keep on truckin.

sincerely Tereasa Petrovich   welcome to sheilas journey

First story,  I sold my barbi collection age 8 ,to raise money for a keep on truckin rally.
